Apple adds NBC's must-see-TV to its iTunes video network
Apple announced today that it has added shows from NBC, the Sci-Fi channel, and USA Network to its iTunes Music Store. Particularly interesting in this deal is that Apple is now adding archived TV titles such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Law and Order as well as more modern fare such as Monk and The Office. Prices are still $1.99 per video, and I presume the resolution continues to be 320x240 (although I haven't checked that).
Now if they can just get CBS, Fox, and PBS to join up, the Apple TV network will be just about ready for prime time. Once all the major network content is available, it might even accelerate sales of video iPods well past the 8 million or so we predict they'll sell this Christmas in the next few quarters.
