More details on Apple plasmas
Jason O'Grady wrote a new article clarifying his humorous description of new Apple plasma displays, saying that he has gotten confirmation of the rumor from multiple sources, all the way down to part numbers. Of particular interest is the description of an LCD-based remote control that should give Harmony a run for its money.
We're on record predicting Apple will introduce large screen plasma TV's this year, but I don't actually expect to hear about them tomorrow. This type of product announcement begs for one of those special one-day events that Steve ran last year. But given all the hype last week, Steve may be including the plasmas as his rebuttal to the many TV announcements at CES. Should that be the case, don't expect to see any "available from the Apple Store immediately" comments; we're betting on spring availability. Regardless, though, We'll know tomorrow by around 2 PM EST.
