New humorous rumor of Apple's all-in-one high-definition TV system
Blackfriars first predicted that Apple would introduce an all-in-one Intel-based HDTV system last fall along with its own Internet-based content service. Well, O'Grady's Powerpage now has a similar story passed on by a source only named as "Sandwich Man", claiming that Apple will announce 42-inch and 50-inch plasma systems next Tuesday at MacWorld. They don't say who might be making the panels; our bet is that the glass is either LG or Panasonic, especially given Panasonic's dealings with Comcast announced at CES.
Update: I have been doing CES updates and Web site maintenance all morning, or else I would have read the article more carefully and noticed that it is a spoof. All that said, I still think it is closer to the mark than O'Grady realizes. We'll see in about six months, I predict.
