Microsoft XBox 360 sales fall short of its own projection
According to next-gen.biz, Microsoft has abandoned it's original forecast of selling 2.5 to 3 million XBox 360s in the first 90 days due to supply constraints (a similar story is here at VNUnet.com). It is sticking with its longer-term forecast of 5.5 to 6 million sales in the first six months, presumably based upon its addition of another production line in China. Note however, that if the actual bottleneck is IBM chip yields and production, we may expect unit shipments to continue to fall short until yields improve.
