Panasonic announces plans, but not availability for 50-inch 1080p plasma

Gizmodo notes that Panasonic is demonstrating what has been called the smallest 1080p plasma display at CEATEC 2005 in Japan. With more than two megapixels and a 50-inch diagonal display, it isn't exactly petite, but the 50-inch size is sure to allow it to go into a lot more rooms than its 65-inch sister display. Unfortunately, it's a technology demonstration at this time; no prices or dates were announced for when it might become a production product.
